Referral programs
We have gone through 64 platforms' own pages for referral and affiliate programs. 4 have a published program with amounts that can be referred to from Sweden. 8 have a program, but a weaker one. 3 have a program that applies to companies or employees, not to you.
Programs with published terms and amounts
- Mercor — yes: 20 percent of the referral's earnings incl. bonus, capped at 4 times the hourly rate for hourly assignments
Excluded on OTP lists. The hourly rate alone is not enough: bonuses count towards revenue. - micro1 — up to 3,000 USD per successful placement, but the amount is stated on each listing, so it is not always 3,000. Paid after the candidate has worked 10 hours. The amounts are fixed, not a percentage.
Three separate programs (referral, friend, partner). Anyone can refer without an account. No published spam ban. - Clickworker — yes: 5 EUR/USD when the friend has been paid at least 10 EUR/USD themselves. The bonus is paid only after the friend's own payout has gone through. Published in Clickworker's support article, changed.
No published spam ban. - Sovrano AI — yes: a referral program exists. Only the first referrer counts. Work samples and tests give no referral.
Referral cannot be applied retroactively. The terms are described on the Sovrano help page.
Programs that exist but are weaker
The amounts are either not published, vary per project, or give credit instead of money. We mark that instead of pretending that everything is equivalent.
- Mindrift (Toloka's contributor site) — yes: a referral program exists, tied to certain projects. Amounts and terms are in Mindrift's own help article.
Not a general program. - Outlier (Scale AI) — partly: referrals are made from the dashboard; no published terms or amounts
The terms are in Outlier's FAQ. - uTest — yes: uTest has a referral program. Amounts and terms are on uTest's own page.
The terms are on uTest's own page. - Respondent — 50 USD per friend who joins, verifies identity and earns 75 USD in studies. No upper limit. Paid via Tremendous, 7-10 days.
The website states the bonus without a cap. - OneForma (CENTIFIC Global Solutions) — No overall program - only per-project forms.
The links are project-specific and expire quickly. - Handshake AI — yes: 10 percent of the referred person's hourly rate, capped at 40 times the bonus rate per qualified referral
Excluded for "referral gaming, or a violation of these terms". - Testable Minds — yes: friends can be registered; withdrawal once referral earnings reach 10 USD
Psychological studies, not AI training. - Turing — yes: Share & Earn via help.turing.com. Amounts and terms are on Turing's own page.
The terms are on Turing's help page.
Where we deliberately do not use a referral link
- Prolific — Prolific's referral program for researchers (Researcher Referrals Offer) gives 30 USD in credit when the referred person has spent 125 USD on Prolific. The credit goes to studies, so the program suits researchers who buy studies, not participants who want to earn money.
Applies to researcher accounts, not to you as a gig worker. We therefore do not link here. - Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk) — NONE - and explicitly prohibited.
Acceptable Use Policy: "Using the MTurk website to try to generate 'referred' site visits or click-through traffic". A link here would violate their policy. Do not link. - Bright Data — yes, published with amounts, but it is a SALES COMMISSION, not pay: 50% revenue share, up to $2.5K per customer (brightdata.com/referral).
The company sells data traffic, not jobs. Irrelevant for the consumer guide. Do not link.
The other 49 platforms
Have no published referral program. We checked /affiliate, /referral, /partners and the FAQ on each site. There we link directly to the platform without commission — there is nothing to receive.
Amazon Mechanical Turk explicitly prohibits it
MTurk's Acceptable Use Policy says: "Using the MTurk website to try to generate 'referred' site visits or click-through traffic". A guide link there would violate their policy, so we do not do it.
If something goes wrong
If a platform changes its terms, or if we have included a link that does not pay off, get in touch. See contact.
